Dr. Donald P. Henriques, Jr.
Since beginning practice in 1990, Dr. Don Henriques considers himself to be a wellness chiropractor. Dr. Henriques partners with his patients to determine what is best for each individual. "We work together in making a health care change to one of prevention instead of crisis care. This cooperation includes teaching my patients that great health involves so many things like eating better, getting more rest, and exercising more." He continues to explain that, "chiropractic care isn't for everyone because it does involve a willingness to invest time and energy to get the best result. Some patients may even have to learn to sleep differently, sit in a chair properly and even do specific exercises to strengthen their back muscles. It can be a challenge at first." This approach has worked for thousands who have sought out Dr. Henriques' help since 1990 when he opened his doors first in Elizabethtown, PA.
"Our brain is the most important organ and every nerve fiber that comes out of the brain goes down the spinal cord. There are 24 movable bones in the spinal column that protect the spinal cord. If one of those gets out of place, twists and locks in the wrong position, the nerves inside the spinal cord become twisted and pinched. The nerves that exit the spine will then not transmit messages to and from the brain properly. If that irritation is removed and we allow messages from the brain to flow freely, the body will begin to heal itself. Our bodies are amazing! There is nothing to compare to what our bodies were designed to do naturally, without us having to give it a thought."
Working with men, women, children of all ages (including babies only hours old), Dr. Henriques believes that his greatest joy comes from seeing others learn to help themselves and to get healthier and feel better. Chiropractic care is safe, efficient and cost effective for nearly everyone. Dr. Henriques is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and helps many athletes from all over the area to reach their optimal health potential with chiropractic care.
Dr. Henriques has made the commitment to helping take care of the health concerns of the Mount Joy, Elizabethtown and surrounding communities since 1990.
He resides in Maytown with his wife Amy and their children, Elizabeth and Donovan.
